Religious Discrimination Update: Resolved

An update on the case in Indiana I wrote of earlier. The lawsuit has been dropped. The school has agreed to make an accommodation for the religious observances.

The blame is being placed on the No Child Left Behind Act and state laws. In my opinion it is more the state than the federal act. This is the only case I am aware of. It seems to me if this was a result of the No Child Left Behind Act we would have seen more of these. More likely it was some bureaucrat’s interpretation of the law. At any rate the right thing is being done and I am glad to see it was resolved before it actually had to go to court.
